KARBALA: Sadrist Ahrar bloc MP described the government's action to cancel food ration card as "a hot bullet in cold war".

MP Iman al-Mussawi told Aswat al-Iraq that the government's decision was "wrong in time and purpose".

She added that "the poor cannot bear new suffering, which will lead to a chaotic state in the Iraqi street".

Ahrar bloc rejected yesterday, in a press conference, the decision, while other sources stated that the government will increase the compensation amount from 15000 to 25000 Iraqi dinars (from $12 to $20).

On the other hand, Iraqi Republican Gathering, headed by Saad Asim al-Janabi, called the government to control the prices in the market against greedy traders.
