The mixed-use development, launched in August 2014, includes an 18-hole golf course, five-star hotel, clubhouse and villas.

Dubai-based Damac Properties will award the master plan contract for Akoya Oxygen, Dubailand Dubai, UAE by the end of this year or early 2015, according to a senior company official who added that the developer will also announce the clubhouse and golf course designers and architects.

"We launched the tender last month. We plan to announce the winner by the year-end or maximum early next year along with the winning designers and architects for the clubhouse and golf course," Niall McLoughlin, Senior Vice President, Damac Holding Co told Zawya Projects in an exclusive.

"Following the appointment of the master planner, there will be many tender announcements in the next 12 months."

He did not disclose the value of the project, saying that it is still under evaluation. Infrastructure works have already commenced on the project, which was launched in August 2014.

US-based AECOM (listed on New York Stock Exchange) is the lead consultant for the mixed-use development, which will include a five-star hotel, clubhouse and villas for estimated 50,000 residents.

It will also host Trump World Golf Club Dubai, an 18-hole 500 hectare championship-standard golf course.

"We have now two Trump-operated and managed golf courses: Trump International at Akoya by Damac in MotorCity, scheduled to open by September 2015 and Trump World Golf Club Dubai, which will be opened by the end-2017," said McLoughlin.

In September, Zawya Projects quoted Damac Properties Managing Director Ziad El Chaar as saying that Akoya Oxygen was being built on the land previously allocated to Tiger Woods Dubai, a project that got stalled and was eventually canceled in the aftermath of the global financial crunch.
