Al Barari Firm Management LLC, the Dubai-based master developer, plans mega investments in a new six-star resort boutique hotel and a floating market for Al Barari - Phase 2, Nad Al Sheba, Dubai, UAE, a senior company official told Zawya Projects in an exclusive.

"It is a significant investment and a very high-end development," said Dereck Alexander Jon Hoogenkamp, Sales and Marketing Director at the company adding that he could not quote the exact figure because they are still working on the project details.

The designs for the hotel and floating market are ready. However, the names and other project details will be announced in January 2015.

"The hotel's design is a blend of the Islamic architecture and modern Western trends," he said adding that the architectural practice is a local firm without divulging the name.

The boutique hotel will be a low-rise building 'not higher than five floors' he said, adding that it will take two years to complete since the construction commencement.

"At the moment, we are working on the number of hotel rooms as well as means of financing," he said.

The development's construction will most probably be done by the construction arm of Al Barari.

"We normally build ourselves, except for off-plan residential apartment projects, where you have to tender the construction works," he explained.

Al Barari - Phase 2 also includes Ashjar with 21 low-rise buildings, Seventh Heaven villas and garden homes, besides retail.

Hoogenkamp said six million square feet Phase 1 of the development comprised 217 villas in The Residences and the Reserve developments, six themed gardens and Greenworks, one of the largest privately-owned plant nurseries in the region.

Al Barari, a nature-focused development with 80 percent greenery, has a microclimate with overall temperatures lower by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius compared to the rest of Dubai.

Located in Nad Al Sheba district, the development overlooks a wildlife reserve.
