MUSCAT -- A new inspiring book Power of Human Resources by Fawziya al Araimi (pictured), an Omani HR specialist, has hit the stands recently.

The book showcases the importance and centrality of human resources from the perspective of public and private sector corporations and highlights the evolution of HR into a strategic business partner, an employee champion and a key change agent for modern organisations.

In today's evolving business landscape, understanding and appreciating the language of human resources has become a quintessential necessity for all organisations as HR bestows myriad benefits for employees, investors, managers, and even consumers.

The book gently guides the reader through the core functions of human resources management by delving into critical areas such as strategic HRM, recruitment and selection, training, performance appraisal, compensation and frameworks of job design. In addition, the book also illuminates important but often neglected concepts such as emotional intelligence, change management, work-life balance and their overarching linkages with HR.

The intention of the author has been to make a one-stop quick reference tool about HR for catering to the diverse needs of public or private sector managers, HR professionals and even postgraduate students.
The book has been published by one of the largest UK publishing houses and is being distributed by leading global distributors such as Ingram, Bertrams and Gardeners across 44,000 retailers such as Amazon, Guardian and Baker and Taylor.

The book is also available at traditional bookshops of leading international book retailers such as Waterstones, Barnes and Noble, Borders and Blackwell publishers in the US, UK, Europe, Asia and Middle East. The book is available for purchase in the paperback, hardcover and e-book versions.

Fawziya is a senior executive who has served as Deputy General Manager and General Manager in some of the leading public and private sector establishments in Oman. She holds an MBA from the University of Wales in the UK and is actively involved in charity works with some of the major philanthropic and social welfare organisations in the Sultanate.
