MUSCAT -- In line with the Brunei Darussalam government's vision to improve its ranking in the 'Ease of Doing Business for Private Companies', the Ministry of Primary Resources (MIPR) and Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) have awarded a three-year contract to Bahwan CyberTek (BCT) and its local partner Shinba Edaran.

The project is to integrate the main Business Licensing System with the existing back-end agency systems of the 13 departments participating in this national initiative led by MIPR and MoHA.

Bahwan Cybertek will implement its flagship product Cuecent Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), which will facilitate and expedite the integration between the various government agency systems, thereby easing the business licensing process for the local and international business entities wanting to invest in Brunei Darussalam. BCT had partnered with a reputed local IT business establishment Shinba Edaran for this prestigious project.

A contract signing ceremony held in Brunei Darussalam recently was attended by Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Utama Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Yahya bin Begawan Mudim Dato Padulka Haji Bakar (Minister of Industry and Primary Resources) as Guest of Honour. Also present was Sayyid Fakhri bin Mohammad al Said, Oman's Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam.

Durga Prasad, Director and CEO of Bahwan CyberTek group in a press statement said: "Bahwan CyberTek is very happy to partner with Government of Brunei Darussalam on this e-government flagship project. This would not only bolster the strong tie-up that Sultanate of Oman has with Brunei Darussalam, but would also encourage local business houses in both the countries to exchange ideas, creating more business opportunities."

S Vishwanathan, Associate Vice President, Bahwan Cybertek, added: "With this project we would like to share our experience and expertise in handling similar government projects across the Middle East, Asia and United States with the local IT community of Brunei Darussalam. Our ongoing commitment to build local IT talent in Brunei will get a boost by this initiative where we intend to develop Shinba Edaran as a regional Cuecent partner."
