ARBIL: President of Iraq's Kurdistan region, Massoud Barzani, discussed on Saturday with U.S.
Ambassador James Jeffery the latest developments in Iraq, according to a statement from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.

"Barzani received the diplomat and General Robert Kaslen, who is responsible for the U.S. security office in Iraq, at the Salah al-Din resort," said the statement received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

"The two sides stressed on the importance of solving all pending issues through abiding by the constitution and real partnership," it added.

"The president reviewed the recent bilateral, trilateral and quintuple meetings held in Arbil, asserting that dictatorship is the only thing that threatens Iraq's unity." "The general talked about the role of joint forces of U.S. federal army and the Peshmerga forces," it noted.
