ARBIL: Kurdish President Masoud Barzani discussed with US General Lloyd Austin, Commander of the central operations, the dossiers connected with fighting Da'ish organization, the sufferings of the displaced people and the formation of the new government.
In a presidential statement, Barzani thanked USA for its support and the role of the General in combating Da'ish gunmen.
Barzani reviewed the latest events, terrorists' threats and the downfall of Mosul city, then their attacks against the Kurdish region.
The victories of the Kurdish Peshmarga forces were also tackled.
Both sides agreed that Da'ish organization represents a threat to the region and the world as well, thus it should be repelled by international cooperation and coordination between the US forces and Peshmarga in the current war.
On the Iraqi political scene, both sides re-affirmed the importance of forming an overall government that will serve all Iraqi components.
General Austin, earlier, visited Baghdad, where he met President Fouad Ma'soum, parliament Speaker Saleem al-Jbouri and entrusted Premier Haidar ala-Ibadi and discussed Iraqi security and political issues.
