MUSCAT -- BankMuscat donated 31 personal computers (PCs) and 19 sewing machines to physically challenged citizens who successfully completed a training programme in computer and tailoring at the Disabled Care and Rehabilitation Centre.

Shaikh Mohammed Abdullah al Busaidy, Wali of Seeb, presided at the ceremony.

Shaima Murtadha al Lawati, Head of CSR Department, said: "BankMuscat is happy to support the Disabled Care and Rehabilitation Centre and help the physically challenged people to lead normal lives and thereby contribute to society. The gesture benefiting citizens with special needs is aimed at helping them overcome their challenges and integrate with the mainstream society."

Saleh Issa al Agbari, Manager of Disabled Care and Rehabilitation Centre, said: "We are thankful to BankMuscat for being sensitive to the needs of people with special needs and taking steps to enrich their lives. The donation of PCs and sewing machines will empower them for their daily tasks. We thank BankMuscat for its generosity."

BankMuscat is the first Omani bank to establish a full-fledged CSR department in Oman.
