MUSCAT -- Bahwan CyberTek (BCT) has signed an agreement with Dubai eGovernment (DeG), further strengthening its partnership as a software solutions provider to the latter.  Bahwan CyberTek FZ LLC, a Dubai Internet City-based specialist IT consultancy and solutions provider with its global headquarters in Chennai-India, has grown its presence significantly in the region since establishing its offices in the UAE in 2000.

The company, which is part of the Suhail Bahwan Group of Oman, has customers across the Middle East covering the government and public sectors, banking, manufacturing, real estate and construction, leading retail chains and large trading entities, supply chain and logistics, and energy and airline sectors.

Durgaprasad, Director & CEO of Bahwan CyberTek Group, said the relationship with Dubai eGovernment has developed from strength to strength since 2002 from being software solution provider to the co-creation of a comprehensive ePayment Hub (Cuecent ePay). "Our joint competencies, comfort and trust built over the years has today matured into a new dimension of a partnership and we have signed an agreement to this effect with DeG today.

This is a clear testimony of a successful long term relationship built between us and DeG and we firmly believe in engaging with every customer with the same zeal and commitment. Narendar, Executive Vice-President -- ME Operations, Bahwan CyberTek, added: "The new partnership with DeG is to combine our joint expertise in eGovernment, eServices and ePayment automation coupled with DeG's rich experience of constituting and executing a successful eGov Model will help advice and support other regional governments adopt best practices and implement proven solutions from a team that has the relevant experience in the local geographies."

DeG had engaged BCT to develop one of its core service offerings called ePay. ePay is a centralised payment gateway integrated with all the government departments' payment systems in the Emirate of Dubai, thereby enabling payment from different channels.  The success of ePay helped Dubai eGovernment bag the 'Best eGovernment Program in the Middle East' award during the inaugural Middle East Business Achievement Awards (MEBA Awards) at the Leaders in Dubai Summit held on November 18, 2007.
