Venture Capital Bank (VCB), the first dedicated Islamic venture-capital investment institution, yesterday announced four key  appointments.

Joining the bank in senior positions are Dr Ken Baldwin, director and head of risk management, and Faisal Al Abbasi, director in the private-equity and financial-advisory department.

The director of risk management adds significant expertise to VCB with more than 13 years industry experience in investment banking, having worked at a number of top-tier investment houses including Union de Banques Suisses and Credit Suisse in treasury and risk-management positions.

The two directors are joined by Jehad Hassan Qamber, currently head of human resources and administration at VCB, and Elham Al Koohiji, who will further strengthen the Investment team. Most recently she was at the Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait where she worked as project manager in the business development division, before which she was an investment officer at Taib Bank.
