LMRA has released a new version of its website which boasts greater accessibility and increased user-friendliness.

The website is considered as revolutionary in its set up and is expected to serve as a model for other Bahraini government websites.

The site was launched recently under the patronage of Ministry of Labour Dr. Majeed Al Alawi. The new portal, www.lmra.bh, is compliant with international web design, usability and accessibility standards  and is compatible with a large majority of browsers. It is also Web 2.0 compliant and can therefore be used in connection with blogs and social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Flikr and YouTube.

The site also offers more advanced features for its users and its content can be translated automatically into 50 different languages.

The portal was built from scratch by a purely Bahraini team. It receives 10,000 daily visitors and previous versions of the site won several local and international awards.

The site can be used by foreign workers to check their visa status using the Express Services, while employers can also follow-up on their employees' visa applications.
