Atif scalped five wickets, including a hattrick, to help Belhasa to an emphatic 85-run victory against Dulsco in the 1st Belhasa Driving Centre floodlit cricket tournament, being held under the auspices of the Dubai Cricket Council.
Till the entry of Atiq, Dulsco had been cruising at 70 for 5, well within the asking run-rate.
But Atiq single-handedly took complete control of proceedings as he claimed a hattrick in the very first over to put Dulsco on the backfoot.
Atiq took another wicket in his second over and then scalped the last batsman midway through the third to complete the rout. Atiq gave away just four runs to notch the best bowling figures of the tournament so far.
Belhasa skipper Bahadur Khan Afridi had softened the top order, accounting for both the openers.
Earlier electing to bat, Belhasa rode on a fine half century from hard-hitting Saleem Khan to saunter to a modest total of 169 all out in 22.2 overs.
Khan's 50 came from 34 deliveries, including a six and seven fours. He was well supported by Nadeem Haji with a quick 27 runs.
The tournament is organised by Al Saffar Sports with sponsorship from Belhasa Driving Centre.
