American Concrete Institute (ACI) will contribute to the development of Iranian concrete industry and effective cooperation will take place in the field.

Announcing this, head of International Committee of the institute, Luke Snell said on Tuesday that ways to promote quality of concrete has been taken into account in recent years, the signs of which are evident in new structures such as the landmark Milad Tower.

Since Iran is located on earthquake faultline, quality of construction materials especially concrete is important in consolidating buildings resistance against quakes, Snell said.

Pointing out that standards for making concrete are very similar in Iran and the US, he also said that carrying out instructions is of crucial significance.

He also described the trend of inspection over concrete production in Iran as very important.

The most time required for transfer of concrete from a production site to the target place has been projected at 90 minutes, but Tehran's traffic jam is a serious challenge for materializing this.

According to him, in the US, promoting quality of concrete ranging from the pre-processing stage to production requires precise supervision by educated people and the material lacking quality is not allowed to be supplied.

Holding educational courses by ACI to raise awareness in the field is one of the effective ways to promote quality of concrete in Iran, he said.
