Abu Dhabi: The Al Wahda delegation to Qatar to face Iraqi club Al Zawraa in the Asian Champions League will leave Abu Dhabi on Monday.

Al Wahda lead Group A of the continent's biggest football competition with full six points from matches after beating Al Rayyan, from Qatar, 1-0 and Al Araby from Kuwait 4-1.

Al Zawraa play their home matches in Doha because of the situations in Baghdad.

They are placed second in the standings with four points after beating Al Araby 1-0 and settling for a 0-0 tie with Al Rayyan.

Al Wahda will miss the services of the ace player Esmail Mattar who is suspended for two matches following his red card in the first match against Al Rayyan.

"Winning the match against Al Zawraa will lead our team a long way in their quest to reach the second round of the competition," Rashid Al Zaabi, the Chairman of the club's Executive Board, the head of the delegation, told Gulf News yesterday.

"We will surely miss Esmail (Mattar) but we have confidence in the other players who have shone against Al Araby and won 4-1," Al Zaabi added.

The list of the delegation includes 24 players: Shaiban Saleh, Tawfig Abdul Razzag, Ali Jumaa Al Zaabi, Yasir Mattar, Maurito, Omar Ali, Abdullah Al Noobi, Tilal Abdullah, Mamadou Bagayoko, Fahad Masaood, Mohammad Othman, Nader Lamyaghri, their new Moroccan custodian, Abdullah Saeed Salem, Mohammad Saeed Al Shehhi, Basheer Saeed, Abdul Basit Mohammad, Hayder Allo Ali, Abdul Rahim Jumaa, Yasir Abdullah, Mahmoud Khamis, Abdullah Ali, Eissa Ahmad and Hamdan Esmail.

The match will be held on Wednesday, April 11.
