MUSCAT -- Blue City Company 1, the real estate development company tasked to deliver Phase 1 of Al Madina A'Zarqa, the most significant real estate infrastructure project in Oman, has appointed Roger Kacou (pictured) as Vice-President of Hotel and Leisure Development.
Kacou brings with him considerable regional experience, having worked for the past 19 years as a Regional Director within the leisure and hospitality industry. Prior to joining Al Madina A'Zarqa, Kacou's extensive operational experience involved working with a number of leading industry names, including over five years as Director of Operations -- Africa, for InterContinental Hotels Group Middle East and Africa.
"It is extremely exciting to be part of such a visionary project," said Kacou commenting on Al Madina A'Zarqa. "I am very honoured to be part of the development of this pioneering city and the contribution it is making to Oman's Vision 2020 and the strategic development of tourism for the Sultanate. Al Madina A'Zarqa will become an international destination and an example for excellence in hospitality. We are all ready to sign with two renowned hotel brands and very soon we will announce the news in the market."
Kacou will assume the responsibility for strategic direction for the three hotels and golf club in Al Madina A'Zarqa's first phase. He will also be instrumental in developing and implementing strategic business plans for the hospitality component of the city on a local and international level.
Commenting on Kacou's appointment, Anees Issa al Zadjali, Chairman of Al Sawadi Investment and Tourism, the company responsible for Al Madina A'Zarqa said: "Roger Kacou's considerable experience puts him in good stead for his position at Al Madina A'Zarqa. We have every confidence that Roger both understands and shares our vision for the development of this exceptional project."
