Dubai: Al Joker, PSV and Warsan 11 secured wins, while Guards and Fazaa Stables 3 played out a 4-4 draw in the third day of the futsal competition at the Nad Al Sheba Ramadan Championships being held at the Nad Al Sheba Club.
Al Joker were inspired by a brace from Hashim Safar, while player of the match Ahmad Abdullah and Habib Ebrahim scored one each as they overwhelmed NAS 4-1. Hamad Abbas was the sole goalscorer for the losing side. This was the second win for Al Joker, who had swamped Altaf 5-1 in their opener.
PSV also recorded their second win, a 4-2 victory against Zabeel Studio. Humaid Salim, Ahmad Mousa, Jasim Abdul Redha and Eisa Mohammad’s own goal helped PSV to a 4-0 cushion. Ahmad Al Suwaidi got both the goals for Zabeel Studio, who lie bottom of Group A after two losses.
The best match of the night was in Group B with Warsan 11 securing an entertaining 4-3 win against SkyDive Dubai.
Down 2-3 until the last two minutes of regulation period, Warsan 11 fought back through goals from Khalifa Mohammad and Hamad Ali to secure full points for their second win in as many matches. Ahmad Hussain had scored a brace earlier to keep Warsan 11 in the match after Marzouk Antar’s two goals and Abdul Rahman Omar’s strike had given SkyDive Dubai the hope of a win.
Fazza Stables and Guards picked up their first points in the competition with their draw in the second Group B match. Abdul Razak Mohammadi scored a hat-trick and Abdullah Khalifa added another goal for the Guards, but Fazza Stables fought back with a brace from Mahmoud Abdah, while Mahmoud Mohammad and Nasser Hussain scored one apiece.
Meanwhile, in the padel tennis, Warsan 11 and Hadidi team reached the semi-finals with contrasting wins on Sunday night.
While Warsan 11 secured an easy 2-0 victory over Team Chelsea, Hadidi had to fight until the very end for a 2-1 win over the Uncle Saeed team led by Shaikh Saeed Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum.
Held under the patronage of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman, Dubai Sports Council, the Nad Al Sheba Ramadan Championships carry a prize fund of Dh7 million.
