DOHA: The Qatar chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) in association with the Scientific Accounting Association at Qatar University will be hosting a seminar for members at the Millennium Hotel tomorrow.
The seminar will focus on the differences between Islamic and conventional banking, as well as identifying the role and importance of Shariah and internal audit functions in Islamic banking.
The seminar will be sponsored by QNB Al Islami and Musadag El Melik, General Manager, QNB Al Islami, will be the main speaker. El Melik is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds an MBA in Finance, as well as a post graduate diploma in Islamic banking from the London Institute of Islamic Banking.
With over 27 years experience in banking, El Melik has leaded the management team of QNB Al Islami, the Islamic branch of QNB, since its inception in March 2005. In the years since, QNB Al Islami has grown within the market and has consistently proven to be a key player in Qatar's Islamic banking sector.
This IIA Seminar will commence with a general introduction to Islamic banking, followed by a comparison of Islamic and Conventional banking systems. Seats at the seminar are limited, the IIA said in a statement that members wishing to confirm attendance can call 5545925.
