Al Hanoo Holding announced yesterday that it is in the final stages of awarding a contract to develop villas on Al Nujoom Islands.
Phase one of the reclamation works is complete, and the developer is preparing to implement the final touches before starting phase two, which will take around two-and-a-half years to complete.
The project comprises 10 islands surrounded by 35km of water, with canals extending between 100 and 400 metres into the water. It is expected to be completed in 2012.
Chairman, Sheikh Abdullah bin Fahid Al Shakrah, said: "Al Nujoom Islands is over 50 per cent complete."
