Damascus - The National Leadership of the al-Baath Arab Socialist Party said Wednesday that the Syrians are going ahead with their struggle through supporting their army in the face of terrorism.
In a statement marking the 68th anniversary of the Independence Day, a national day commemorating the evacuation of the last French soldier from Syria on 17th April 1946, the leadership said that the Syrians, since independence, have been committed to their national stances and to rejecting all forms of foreign interference as the state's sovereignty is sacred for all the Syrian people.
The statement stressed that the steadfastness of the Syrian people in confronting the international plot and the Israeli enemy is a point in the march of struggle that has been going on since the French colonialism.
It noted that while the anniversary of the independence is being marked by huge and massive marches in all provinces that are expressing support to the army in the face terrorism, sectarianism and foreign interference, it now coincides with the continued French hostile policies against the Syrian people in terms of financial, media, political and military support to the armed terrorist groups in Syria.
The leadership stressed that Syria, under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad, will continue its struggle until every inch of the occupied Arab land is liberated and cleared of all terrorists.
Regional Leadership marking Independence Day: Syria will be victorious
The regional Leadership of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party said that Syria will be victorious with the strength of its people, army and leadership, and that the Syrians will foil terrorism and neo-colonialism as they did when they foiled the old colonialism in the region.
In a statement commemorating the Independence Day, the leadership said that what had happened before independence can explain the reality of the current events and that proves the ability of the Syrian Arab Army to achieve victory.
The leadership highlighted that the Syrians are now facing the battle for the real independence, the independence of sovereignty, decision and will, adding that breaking a people, like the Syrians, who are experienced in struggle and preserving their dignity, is impossible.
