AJMAN, June 17th, 2010: H. H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council member and ruler of Ajman has opened the Rashid Diabetes Center in a ceremony attended by Sheikh Ahmed bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Economic Department, and Dr Hanif Hassan, Minister of Health.
Sheikh Humaid hailed the process of development in the UAE in all fields and in the health sector in particular. He said healthcare receives great support and interest from President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and is a priority in UAE Government's strategy launched by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai H. H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Dr. Mahmoud Fikri, Executive Director for Health Policies at the Ministry of health said the treatment at the center rely on an advanced system that compiles an extensive database on the patient's history and allows for medical examinations and analysis in a single session. He pointed out that the center features a laboratory with state-of-the-art equipment that allow doctors to give out results in 40 minutes. The Centre also provides an obesity treatment unit run by specialists and surgeons. Dr Hanif Hasan expressed thanks and gratitude to Sheikh Humaid for his continuous support for healthcare services.
