DAMASCUS - Afro-Arab Parliamentary Conference resumed deliberations Monday evening headed by Syrian People's Assembly Speaker Mahmoud al-Abrash. The participants discussed the social, economic and political conditions in the world.

Heads of the participating delegations called for deepening dialogue between Arab and African MPs, tackling regional issues, consolidating solidarity concepts and expanding horizons of consultations between Arab and African members in order to overcome bad repercussions of aridity, underpayment, illiteracy and poverty.

Speeches at the Conference also called for activating the role of diplomacy as an effective element in international relations to develop the social, economic and political situations as well as activating the role of women in society.
