ABU DHABI (Zawya Dow Jones)--Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations, or ADCO, will tender two contracts to raise its capacity by 145,000 barrels a day, the company's Assistant General Manager Mohamed Juma Abdulla bin Juma said Monday.
"Bida Al-Qemzan will be for 25,000 barrels a day and will be just a construction contract. It will be awarded by the end of the year," Bin Juma told reporters at a conference in Abu Dhabi. "We should be in the tendering process three months before construction," he said.
He added his company is also in the process of preparing a North East Bab, or NEB, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract that will be tendered by 2013 or 2014 for an additional capacity of 120,000 barrels a day.
Bin Juma said ADCO also hopes to raise capacity to 1.8 million barrels a day by 2017, from the current 1.4 million barrels a day.
