Abu Dhabi, 6 Feb. 2005 (WAM)-- The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) and the Arab Family Organisation (AFO), represented by the "Al Usra Al Arabia (Arab Family) Magazine, today signed an agreement to transmit the Short Messaging Service known as "Zajel SMS".
The agreement was signed by the ADCCI Director General Mohammed Omar Abdullah and Jamal al Bah, Chairman of the AFO and General Supervisor of the Al Usra Al Arabia.
Under the agreement, a new service called "Zajel SMS" will be launched to transmit news and information on government entities, local departments and all other news items, including business and sports, available through the media.
The messages will be transmitted to the subscribers through the service provided and promoted by the Chamber and operated through Internet. Reporters of Al Usra Al Arabia Magazine, published by the AFO, will seek to obtain information on the government entities every day.
The agreement also stipulates that Al Usra Al Arabia will gather information, news on various issues (trade, economic, social, legal and sports) to be transmitted the system developed for the purpose.
The magazine has agreed to carry out all media-related work, including press services, publicity campaigns and promotion of the services and enroll subscribers with the help of its issues.
Talking to media persons at a Press Conference, Abdullah said that the introduction of the Zajel news and information service is part of the Chamber's keenness to provide new and unique services to the private sector and other sections of the society by providing valuable economic information and news that will contribute to supporting their business activities of companies and establishments in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and help them obtain excellence in their fields of operation, Abdullah also hailed the co-operation with AFO through Al Usra Al Arabia and thanked Al Bah for his efforts to enhance the values and principles and the social traditions of the Arab societies.
He also promised that the Chamber would continue its efforts to provide new and unique services for the benefit of its members to enhance the role and contributions of the private sector in the process of economic development.
With this end in view, the Chamber would always try to diversify its services and make new achievements in the service of its members and economic institutions, he added
