Abu Dhabi, March 8th, 2011 (WAM) -- Al Jahili Fort continues to host an exhibition entitled "The Dawn of History: Revealing the Ancient Past of Abu Dhabi" highlighting the important findings made by archaeologists between 1958 and 1972 .
The exhibition, which will run until May 2, has been organized by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage under the patronage of Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler`s Representative in the Eastern Region. The exhibition seeks to highlight the important archaeological works that has been carried out by Danish archaeologists in Abu Dhabi. Among the most important findings that are on display at the exhibition will be items that date back to the Stone Age as well as drawings carved onto the cave walls at Qarn bint Saud, the Hafit graves, which date back 5,000 years, the Umm An-Nar civilisation and the Hili Grand Tomb. ADACH is organising tours to the exhibition which are aimed at students. These tours will be accompanied by archaeologists and guides from the UAE and commentary will be provided in both English and Arabic. The tour includes a pottery workshop that children and youths can participate in.
