Abu Dhabi, May 20th, 2010 (WAM)--Saif Mohammed Al Hajri, Chairman of Abu Dhabi National Hotels ADNH, witnessed the constructional completion of Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi resort in Saadiyat Island this morning. The first resort on the island to be accomplished at a cost of up to AED750 million.
The ceremony was attended by Richard W. Riley, CEO of ADNH and Hamad bin Khalaf Al Otaiba, Executive Vice President of the company and a number of developers and operators of the resort. Al-Hairi said in a statement to Emirates News Agency (WAM) that the resorts construction is completed in a period of 11 months, and represents a qualitative addition to the deluxe tourism in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. He explained that the Resort Abu Dhabi Park Hyatt/ owned by ADNH, overlooks the entire beach and adds a new dimension to the environment friendly green buildings, and is one of the most beautiful tourist resorts by quality in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. Al Hairi announced that he will be the opening of the resort; the first of its kind in Saadiyat Island, during the first quarter of next year. He also pointed out that the ADNH was keen to take into account the construction of this luxurious resort based on environment friendly maters and saving energy, using modern technology in all phases of construction. Pointing out that the company continues its plans for future growth and expansion for tourism development, along with the Strategic Plan of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in 2030. Al-Hajri said tourism has advanced in the city Abu Dhabi, thanks to the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler of Abu Dhabi, and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to support the tourism sector. He stressed the commitment of Abu Dhabi National Hotels to develop the tourism sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi as part of strategic projects in the emirate. For his part, Richard W. Riley said in a statement to (WAM) that the company is proud to complete the construction of Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Resort to be as the first class tourist resort on Saadiyat Island. He said that 22,000 workers have completed the resort buildings in the past 11 months only, stressing that the opening and operation of the park will be in the first quarter of 2011. He also explained that the resort, includes 314 rooms, suites and luxurious villas that are designed according to the latest sophisticated hotel systems in the world, all made of environment friendly materials and based on energy-saving electric power. He pointed out that the location of this resort is unique as it overlooks the beach and golf club in the Saadiyat Island, and provides visitors a list of the best-known restaurants worldwide.
