The Egyptian government will offer three projects to the private sector in July: the Abu Rawash Wastewater Plant, the new wastewater plant in Six October City, and the Rod El Farag highway project. The consortium will bid for all three, Safar said.
According to the Zawya Projects Monitor, the Abu Rawash Wastewater Plant project consists of upgrading the level of treatment from primary to secondary for the full 1.2 million cubic meters per day capacity of the plant. The project will be developed under a public private partnership (PPP), under which the contractor will own and manage the plant for 20 years before handing it over to the Egypt government.
The Rod El Farag highway project will be executed in two phases. Phase one will extend from Alexandria Desert Road to Cairo Ring Road and phase two will extend from Cairo Ring Road to the eastern side of the Nile-Shoubra area and the Al Ismailia Canal Road, according to Zawya Projects. The value of the project is USD 1 billion.
