Kuwait, January 15, 2011 -- EQUATE Petrochemical Company announced the appointment of Adel Al-Munifi as Senior Executive for Corporate Communications & Client Relations.

Al-Munifi, a Kuwaiti citizen, has over 20 years experience in the petrochemical sector and takes on this post after assuming several roles in the petrochemical industry with the most recent being Business Director  at EQUATE Petrochemical Company and President of EQUATE Marketing Company (EMC).

The selection of Al-Munifi stems from his experience, qualifications and competencies that will greatly benefit EQUATE as a world-class company. To EQUATE, human resources are its most valuable asset and Al-Munifi's appointment is a boost to its focus on attracting qualified national manpower which form over 55% of its human resources from over 25 countries.

Al-Munifi's responsibilities at EQUATE include leading its corporate communications, strategic planning, as well as acting as the chief liaison with Kuwait Paraxylene Production Company (KPPC) and Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC) in relevant affairs. In addition, Al-Munifi will continue in his role as TKSC CEO, which he assumed in September 2010.

EQUATE is the single operator of EQUATE II, which includes TKSC, KPPC and The Kuwait Olefins Company (TKOC) under one fully integrated operational umbrella at Kuwait's Shuaiba Industrial Area.
