Dubai Municipality in cooperation with Dubai Government Excellence Award Team at the Executive Council, recently organized a workshop in its training centre located in Al Garhoud, to explain the mechanism of e-Taqyeem programme, in which coordinators from all government departments in the areas of organizational excellence, evaluation and information technology attended.

Workshop was inaugurated by the Coordinator-General of the Dubai Government Excellence Programme, Mr. Ahmed AL Naseirat, during which he stressed on the direction of Eng.Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality to disseminate the eTaqyeem programme at the government level as an initiative of Municipality to offer its experiences to other departments.

Ahmed said that according to the evaluation team of Dubai Government Excellence Award regarding the potential of e-Taqyeem developed by the Municipality, it is considered as an ideal and effective programme to facilitate self-assessment from planning stages to implementation of the evaluation as well as the stages of development and follow up.

"The Executive Council has adopted the programme and would like to invite all government departments to study the mechanism of eTaqyeem, if they wish to adopt and implement it," he said.

Ahmed also urged government departments to socialize their excellent systems, programmes and experiences keeping away from negative competition.

Maryam Al Hammadi, Director of Corporate Excellence Department, during her presentation, explained the advantages of the programme.

"This programme is the first of its kind in the country in the automation of self-assessment process of standards of excellence according to the RADAR method, developed by the municipality staff, and registered under copyright by the Ministry of Economy," Maryam said.

"The first version of eTaqyeem was released in 2009. After several stages of modernization and development, its upgraded version was issued in 2011, according to the criteria of the Dubai Government Excellence and method of assessment RADAR, reducing the administrative and office burdens," she said.

Ahmed Al Shehhi, Head of Application Development of IT Dept talked about the requirements of the work environment to adopt the programme, in addition to the required infrastructure and security standards.
