Seven talented young Omanis, currently working with the Omzest group in the Sultanate vouch that they owe their professional success to the Zawawi Executive Service (ZES). Launched last year, ZES is a strategic initiative of the group to recruit the best and the brightest of young Omani talent and groom them to be the future leaders of the group.

Students who successfully completed the program last year include - Hana Hamed al Nadabi who works with Amiantit Oman LLC, Sara Mohammed al Kindi and Sultan Hilal al Shamsi working with Reem Batteries & Power Appliances Company SAOC, Asdaf al Zadjali and Aisha al A'amri working with Areej Vegetable Oil & Derivatives SAOG, and Abdullah Mohammed al Rashdi and Sultan Saif al Hinai working with Sadolin Paints Oman Limited.

"The ZES program provided us with a unique opportunity to join Omzest on a structured development program, and helped us learn on-the-job; where we got exposure to different business functions. Programs like the ZES will go a long way in developing the youth of our country, and serve as the perfect platform for us to grow in our respective fields and become future business leaders", says a smiling Aisha al A'amri, a Finance Executive working with Areej Vegetable Oil and Derivatives SAOG.

Abdullah Mohammed al Rashdi, a Projects Executive with Sadolin Paints Oman Limited avers, "Apart from serving as a knowledge-base, the program also helped develop our soft skills, as we were exposed to different types of business functions, sometimes all at once. We were encouraged to improve our communication skills and understand the working of an organisation. I am thankful to ZES for having given me the opportunity to not just learn, but excel."

The ZES program has specially been designed by the Omzest group in keeping with His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said's vision to provide education and job opportunities to the Omani youth.  The program also aims to support the Government's ambition of transforming Oman into a knowledge-based economy.

"ZES's main goal has always been to attract highly talented people and to provide them with a platform to excel. The ZES program has been created to develop the leaders of tomorrow and to teach aspiring youngsters the fundamental principles of working in the private sector. The program encourages open minds, original thinking, diversity and ambition - the key attributes that are sought in the future leaders. We are proud that our first batch of students are already employed and are satisfied with the way the program has shaped up. We are now in the process of launching the ZES 2011 program", informs Mr S Gopalan, Chief Executive Officer, Reem Batteries & Power Appliances Co.

The Omzest Group runs over 75 wholly owned and associate companies, has 6 main business activities and exports to 90 countries worldwide. It is one of the Sultanate's premier and diversified business groups epitomising the saying "Dreams can come true".
