Hamdan Bin Rashid Inaugurates the Fifteenth Edition of the UAE International Dental Conference and Arab Dental Exhibition

Dubai - United Arab Emirates, February 1st 2011: H.H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of Dubai Health Authority inaugurated this morning, the fifteenth edition of the UAE International Dental Conference and Arab Dental Exhibition (AEEDC Dubai 2011), at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre . His Highness Sheikh Hamdan was accompanied by a number of ministers, and local and international representatives from 120 countries during the opening ceremony along with heads of delegates and in the presence of Roberto Vianna, President of the World Dental Federation (FDI).

Following the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid took a tour in the exhibition area, and explored the latest medical devices, technologies and equipment displayed by over 850 specialised companies from 70 countries. The tour included stops at company booths unveiling their latest technologies during AEEDC Dubai - which is the only event in the Middle East to receive recognition by the American Dental Association, and is ranked third globally.

His Highness was impressed by the annual growth that AEEDC Dubai achieves every year, and was delighted by the number of companies participating in the exhibition in addition to the number of dentists participating in the conference. He also commented on the tremendous turnout reinforcing Dubai's role as a regional hub for major international companies who are looking forward to promote their products from Dubai to the Middle East and the world market.

H.E. Qadhi Saeed Al Murooshid, Director General - Dubai Health Authority said that Dubai plays a pioneer role in the Conference and Exhibitions business not only in the region, but also globally. He also said that Dubai has become a role model for all other countries, thanks to events such as AEEDC Dubai which provides a memorable experience to all participants and exhibitors, which reflects positively on the dental field.

Al Murooshid also said "AEEDC Dubai is considered one of the most significant events hosted by Dubai, due to the expansion that the event witnesses on a yearly basis. AEEDC attracts the most prestigious companies from all over the globe, in addition to the dentists and participants who come every year to be part of this outstanding event. This success and development reflects on Dubai as a strategic regional hub for all international companies who are looking forward to market their products from Dubai to the whole region".

H.E. also referred to the wise leadership of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minster of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the guidance of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Radshid Al Maktoum which played a vital role in attracting and creating the right platform for the organisers and exhibitors to promote for their businesses. He also said "our wise leadership maintained the reputable and prestigious status of Dubai as the perfect venue for high profile events, which reflects positively on the national economy and add prosperity to the tourism sector in Dubai. Such events help in promoting the Emirate of Dubai as a perfect place for business and investment, with its facilities, infrastructure, and perfect investment opportunities."

H.E. also said "we are keen to support all medical conferences and exhibitions held in the UAE for their excellent revenues on the country, including; economy, trade, tourism and other sectors. Such events contribute to the economy and development to move forward, and develop the skills and capabilities of the public and private sectors, as they offer great opportunity for doctors from the region to get to know the latest scientific developments in the dental field. It is also a great chance for them to exchange ideas, experiences and knowledge from experts in this field."

The scientific committee has organized a special scientific program filled with outstanding courses, workshops and symposiums that will add to the experience and knowledge of each participant, in addition to a number of scientific and business activities that are taking place this year as well. AEEDC conference dedicated four halls at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre to accommodate the 27,000 Participants who will attend the many different activities organised during AEEDC Dubai 2011. The Conference presents more than 110 Speakers covering more than 105 Lectures, 8 Workshops and 20 Advanced Speciality Courses.

For his part, Dr. Tariq Khoory, the Director of the Dental Department at the Dubai Health Authority and the Honorary Chairman of AEEDC Dubai said that the Dubai Health Authority always supports all vital medical events, and encourages all dentists to take part in this outstanding event, and he continued "the Dubai Health Authority gives full support to AEEDC Dubai as we are looking forward to emphasize the healthcare sector in Dubai on both regional and International levels, and AEEDC Dubai is the perfect venue to realize this approach, especially that the participants number is accelerating every year".

Dr. Tariq Khoory also said that that AEEDC Dubai 2011 is embracing a number of new dental specialties every year. He said "For the second consecutive year, the scientific committee at AEEDC is introducing the GCC Preventive Dentistry Conference. However, the scientific program also organise three new major symposiums for the first time; the IADT symposium, the CAD/CAM technology forum, and the Micro CT forum. In addition, there are several other activities taking place such as AEEDC Dubai Awards, AEEDC student competition, poster and oral presentations, workshops and more."

Mr. Abdul Salam Al Madani - President of INDEX Holding and the Executive Chairman of AEEDC Conference and Exhibition said "I am thrilled about the success achieved by AEEDC Dubai over the past fifteen year, therefore, we have decided this year to organise it under the motto "Fifteen years of Achievements" in order to celebrate the great achievements that the event had attained since the start. With over 27,000 participants and visitors, this year's growth in both the number of exhibitors and the space of the exhibition area of AEEDC reflects the strategic position and credibility that Dubai possesses, in addition to AEEDC's capability of presenting the latest research in this field. The overall space of AEEDC exhibition is 28,000 Square meters, and the number of companies participating in AEEDC this year had reached 850 companies from 70 countries.
