HE Senator Abu-Ghazaleh Calls for the Launch of the Arab Youth Summit to Lead the Knowledge Development
Addressing the Arab Youth Forum for Development Summit 2011 upon the invitation of the General Secretariat of the Arab LeagueSHARM EL-SHEIKH- January 19th 2011 - Upon the invitation of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, HE Senator Talal Abu-Ghazaleh delivered a speech in the opening session of the Arab Youth Forum for Development Summit held yesterday in Sharm el-Sheikh in the presence of a large number of leaders, policy makers and representatives of active institutions in the Arab world.
Senator Abu-Ghazaleh called on the Forum to launch the Arab Youth Summit to Lead the Knowledge Development and an annual award for youth; suggestions which were warmly welcomed and approved.
Senator Abu-Ghazaleh addressed attendees, saying: "Being young is great, but to be able to rationalize the youth energy and employ your imagination to change the world to the better is far more important and greater," he added, "I must say that today's generation of youth has excelled in this area through harnessing their vivid spirit for positive creativity. The results are clearly evident in all life aspects, all sectors of the global economy and the human society."
Senator Abu-Ghazaleh stated that the growth rate of the entry to the digital knowledge in the Arab region is five times the global average, and he recalled that the world's richest people are knowledge workers, and they are actually from the youth.
He said that these two institutions constitute one of the pillars of creativity and knowledge, given their objectives and mission in enabling youth to research, educate and access knowledge as well as to improve the quality and standards of education.
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh assured the youth that only by work, willpower, perseverance and creativity, growth and development will occur and institutions will grow. He cited Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) as an example, which was launched in 1972 in Kuwait and became the largest in the world and operating from 73 offices globally.
