Dubai: Interchange One on Shaikh Zayed road has received a facelift, following completion of landscaping works.

The landscaping project covered an area of 14 hectares along the road linking the Business Bay district with Al Wasl Road.

“The RTA has completed all infrastructural works of the project together with the associated works such as setting up of an irrigation pumps chamber, integrated subsidiary irrigation network, agricultural soil, electromechanical works for decorative lighting of pathways and trees, and footpath as well as lanes needed for carrying out periodic maintenance operations,” said Nazim Saeed, Director of Roads at RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency.

He added that the project’s contract covers landscaping the First Interchange, Al Sukook Road, and some areas on Shaikh Zayed Road and Al Safa Road leading to Al Wasl Road. A team of specialist engineers is currently handing over landscaped areas of the project spanning 14 hectares of greenery to the concerned department at the Dubai Municipality.

“The RTA attaches utmost attention to roads landscaping in keeping with its strategic goals of environmental safety and sustainability, particularly in key locations of road projects undertaken by the Traffic and Roads Agency,” Saeed said.
