The Roads & Transport Authority: His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), received an accolade from Tejari.com; the leading platform for processing contracts, procurements and commercial exchanges online. The Award comes in recognition of RTA's commitment and active role in supporting e-commerce through processing contracts and tenders via Tejari e-gate where 99% of RTA's transactions during this year have been carried out through this e-portal.
In a meeting that included the CEO of Tejari.com and several officials from both parties, the CEO of RTA Corporate Technical Support Services Sector Abdullah Al Madani expressed his deep delight with the awarding of this honour to the RTA for the second time running, to further embellish the already impressive record of RTA achievements. "The award reflects the extent of substantial progress & sophistication achieved by the RTA in various scopes and business domains. It also echoes the expeditious efforts made to keep pace with the electronic developments which have an effective bearing on the performance of jobs at the highest speed & accuracy levels in order to deliver best-in-class services to customers," said Al Madani.
"This honour is a good gesture from the top management of Tejari; which is very much concerned with rewarding the best users of its e-gate. RTA is proud of dealing with Tejari; a leading companying adopting state-of-the-art technologies in processing electronic transactions; which have actually been used by the RTA over the past six years," continued Al Madani.
"During the past RTA has assigned considerable attention towards implementing the standards approved by the Government of Dubai relating to e-purchase requests along with the associated tendering & contracting processes with the aim of boosting the e-commerce drive and accordingly bring about the best deliverables & services to public & private entities," said the CEO of RTA Corporate Technical Support Services Sector.
For his part Suhail Al Banna, CEO of Tejari.com, praised the cooperation and communication of the RTA with Tejari, which contributed to boosting the partnership between the RTA and Tejari. At the same time he commended RTA's efforts & effective contribution to build the future of Dubai, and reiterated Tejari's readiness to lend all forms of support & advice essential to the RTA in order to process its e-transactions through Tejari in an express and smooth manner.
Al Banna announced that Tejari.com has recently upgraded its e-tendering system as regards specialist & engineering purchases and contracts. He added that it had been agreed to run workshops to which the system users in RTA's Contract & Procurement Section would be invited in order to make necessary modifications before the implementation of the system.
