Tamkeen, in partnership with the five Governorates of the Kingdom and in coordination with the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCI), has announced plans for the hosting of a series of trade fairs which is scheduled for the month of July. Up to 200 business owners/ participants are being targeted for each Governorate.
The main objective of these fairs will be to stimulate consumer demand for goods and at the same time, profile Tamkeen's efforts to develop new opportunities for the private sector and support continued social development. Participating business owners can showcase and sell their products and services as well as reach new customers.
"We believe that this initiative will create the right atmosphere to stimulate demand for the goods sold by the participants, especially in the run-up to Ramadan and the Eid season when demand is traditionally high," said Tamkeen's Senior Manager of Planning and Development, Dr. Nasser Qaedi. "The fairs will be designed to bring together these businesses under one roof in order to sell their products and services."
According to the organizers, the Trade Fairs will:
- Balance market demand; as the fair will represent a significant opportunity to enhance product visibility
- Promote new and existing products,
- Generate leads and drive incremental sales.
- It will also provide an excellent opportunity for the retail sector to offer attractive special sale promotions and increase traffic to their stores and exhibition stands.
Through this event, Tamkeen intends to help business owners from all over Bahrain by attracting a good crowd to help stimulate demand for the goods.
The first Fair is targeted to open early July and will bring together all interested business owners from each Governorate at a central venue located in the various Governorates to sell their products. These fairs will serve as regional attractions that draw local and foreign demand for the goods in Bahrain.
There will be 5 events in total for (1 for each Governorate) happening over the course of one month approximately for the entire event. Each of these events will be running for 6 days in each Governorate for approximately 9 hours per day.
Tamkeen will be bearing the costs involved which includes space rental, design and construction of trade show displays/booths and promotion of events including logistical coordination with partners.
The trade fair will be open to the public and registration for the companies who wish to participate will begin soon. (Dates and location for registrations will be announced soon)
