13th May 2012: As the Middle Eastern telco sector prepares for the Abu Dhabi Telecoms CEO Summit, it has been confirmed that the Telecommunication & Regulatory Authority (TRA) has extended support as Gold Sponsor for the event, along with ICT Fund - a TRA initiative.

This high profile gathering taking place on the 14th May 2012 under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates, Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri sets the platform for C level executives from the telco sector, both from the operator and vendor community.

The first half of the day further continues with sessions from regional operator CEOs of Etisalat, du, Nawras, GSMA and Thuraya.

The 'CEO Panel' taking place from 12.00pm - 1.15pm is anticipated to be the highlight for the event and expected to throw light on some of the biggest challenges faced by these operators, as they join with the CEOs of ICT Fund and Oger Telecom in this high profile session.

In light of one of the recent developments in the telco industry - the LTE networks, Executive Director Spectrum and International Affairs, Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) - Mr. Tariq Al Awadhi will give more insight through his plenary session from 2.30 - 2.50 pm on the 'Challenge of LTE Deployment'.

The summit culminates with yet another thought provoking discussion titled the 'LTE Roundtable Discussion', which involves senior experts from TRA, du, STC.
