JEDDAH: Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Thunayan, chairman of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, signed two contracts worth SR168 million with Zahran Operation & Maintenance Company and Samama Company on Sunday.
The first contract, which was signed with Zahran, was aimed at providing operation and maintenance services to the 342-bed Medical Center at the Royal Commission in Yanbu and primary healthcare centers in the Yanbu Industrial City.
Under the contract, Zahran will provide administrative services, technical supervision and manpower to keep Royal Commission health facilities in good condition. The contract with Zahran costs SR124 million.
The second contract worth SR44 million won by Samama aims at constructing girl schools in the industrial city. The company will supply necessary materials required for building the schools.
The signing of the contracts comes in the wake of increasing population in the industrial city. The commission has given utmost importance to providing health and educational services to the city's residents.
Meanwhile, Prince Saud inspected a number of educational and welfare projects in Yanbu. He also received outstanding students from Ibn Khaldun Secondary School in the city. He also watched the inventions conducted by the students, who had taken part in national and international contests. He distributed gifts to the students.
Prince Saud was accompanied by senior officials including Prince Turki bin Faisal, director of strategic and economic planning at the commission.
