19 June 2011
Tamkeen in partnership with the five Governorates of the Kingdom and in coordination with the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce has announced plans for hosting of a series of trade fairs aimed at stimulating the local consumer economy. Up to 200 business owners/participants will be selected for each Governorate fair and these fairs are scheduled to take place in 6-day cycles starting on July 7th.

Each fair will bring together all interested business owners from each Governorate at a central venue located in the various Governorates to sell their products. These fairs will serve as regional attractions that draw local and foreign demand for the goods in Bahrain.  There will be 5 events in total (1 for each Governorate) over the course of one month.

Tamkeen will be covering the costs involved which includes space rental, design and construction of trade show displays/booths and promotion of events including logistical coordination with partners.

The trade fair will be open to the public and registration for the companies who wish to participate will begin from Monday 20th of June and will continue till the 29th of June 2011. Registration will close at 2pm.

All applications are subject to eligibility review and do not represent a guarantee of participation.

Successful participants will be notified by 30th of June

The venues for registration will be at the respective governorates, of which the addresses are below:

Companies must have a valid and ongoing Commercial Registration and active business in the respective governorate in which the fair is held. In case of business owners with multiple CRs, they can enroll only once at each Governorate level as per the physical presence of their respective businesses. Businesses dealing in goods only will be accepted to participate in these fairs (details regarding the type of goods will be provided at the registration booths which will be located at each Governorate). Selected businesses are required to participate over the entire duration of the trade fair (with approved goods) at each Governorate level.

The fairs will help profile Tamkeen's efforts to develop new opportunities for the private sector and support continued social development. The business owners can showcase and sell their products and services as well as reach new customers. The fair set up would be ideal to bring together these businesses under one roof in order to sell their products.

It is expected that these trade fairs will

•          Maximize results as the fair will represent a significant opportunity to enhance product visibility

•          Promote new and existing products,

•          Generate leads and drive incremental sales.

•          It will also provide an excellent opportunity for the retail sector to offload shelved or slow selling merchandise over the past few months through special sale offers and other promotional discounts to attract traffic to their stores.

For registration, copies of the CPR & Commercial Registration are required. For further inquiries, please contact: +973 17383399 or +973 17383390
