Ras Al Khaimah: H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, today received H.E. Ali Juma Shamuhuna, Minister of Energy, Water, Land and Settlement of the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar at the Al Dhait Palace here today.
Welcoming the Minister, Sheikh Saud stressed the strong and wide- ranging relations between Ras Al Khaimah and Zanzibar, which is part of the United Republic of Tanzania. He expressed hope that the visit by the minister and the accompanying delegation would serve to enhance bilateral relations between UAE and Tanzania, and Zanzibar in particular, in addition to developing economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, they explored new avenues of cooperation in various fields including energy- related projects and other investments. Sheikh Saud said that Zanzibar has great potential for development and added that Ras Al Khaimah was committed to help the region in achieving sustainable growth.
Ali Juma Shamuhuna lauded the sustained momentum for growth and development in the UAE and Ras Al Khaimah and expressed the strong commitment of the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar to strengthen business and investment cooperation with Ras Al Khaimah.
He said hat the Zanzibar would welcome expertise and investments from Ras Al Khaimah that would contribute to new partnerships for mutual benefit.
The Zanzibar delegation included Mwalim Ali Mwalim, Principal Secretary at the Ministry of Energy, Water, Land and Settlement, and a number of senior officials.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Kayed Al Qasimi, Vice Chairman of RAK Department for Economic Development, Ahmed Essa Al Naeem, General Manager of RAK Gas, and Ruurd S Abma, Chief Operating Officer, RAK Gas, were present at the meeting.
