MUSCAT -- Port Services Corporation has been given two awards; the Most Efficient Port Services and Most Improved Destination for 2009 by the Dream Cruise World Destinations Magazine in the recently held "Cruise Shipping Conference and Exhibition" in Miami.
The Most Efficient Port Services award is given for combination of pilotage, port agency services, customs and security clearance and good working relations with the operations departments of cruise lines. Port Sultan Qaboos was also awarded as the Most Efficient Port Services for the year 2008 as well.
The Most Improved Destination award is given for tourism product and/or infrastructure; e.g. City/town centre landscaping; traffic flow; provision of transport; access to tourism information; new attractions/experiences.
"We would like to thank Ministry of Transport & Communications, Ministry of Tourism, Royal Oman Police -- Customs, Passport and Residence, Coast Guard, Health Quarantine and other security authorities, the shipping agents, tour operators and all other connected agencies for their whole hearted support and co-operation which enabled Port Services Corporation to achieve these awards for two years in a row", said Nasser al Sabqi, who received the award on behalf of Port Services Corporation.
