David Leman and Robert Davies respectively bring in over 20 years of experience in Human Resource and Legal expertise to Marriott International Middle East & Africa
Dubai - The Middle East &Africa continent office of Marriott International, Inc. (NASDAQ:MAR)have over the past months appointed two new senior members of staff who will both be based out of the hotel group's regional headquarters in Dubai. Already a vital member of the Marriott International family, Robert Davies has taken a step forward in his long term Marriott career whilst David Leman joined the company for on May 1st 2015.
Robert, who was previously Division General Counsel for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region, accepted a promotion to Chief Legal Counsel back in January. In his new role, he will continue to lead the regional office's legal team in Dubai and in Cape Town. Following his legal qualification at Linklaters in London, Robert was admitted as a Solicitor in England and Wales, and an Attorney in the Turks and Caicos Islands, British West Indies. He joined the Law Department's International Lodging Transactions Group's London office in 1998 and by 2007, he was appointed Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel.
As Division General Counsel, Robert has led strategic legal initiatives for both Europe and the Middle East and Africa, and has been instrumental in the growth of the Marriott International brands across Eastern Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. The Oxford graduate brings a wealth of legal expertise and in-depth knowledge of the Middle East and Africa region to this leadership position.

Additionally, Marriott International Middle East & Africa proudly welcomednew joiner David Leman as Chief Human Resources Officer. David was previously the Vice President of HRat Qatar Airways and with a career in HR and hospitality spanning over two decades, David has held a number of high profile positions such as Regional Director of HR at bothStarwood Hotels in the Middle East and Hilton International within the Arabian Peninsula.
Having spent over a decade residing in the UAE, David is a keen student of the Gulf region's culture and local community and in his free time he has accumulated enough flight hours to hold a private pilot license.
