more than 200 students from outside the Middle East choose Dubai for MBA workshops

Manchester Business School (MBS) has brought together more than 1,000 part-time MBA students - all working professionals - for a series of intensive MBA workshops in Dubai, running from March into April, for over 40 academic sessions led by 20 MBS faculty, who are also leading a series of public seminars. The largest group comprises students residing in the GCC followed by those based in China. The Dubai workshops, hosted by Dubai Knowledge Village and Dubai World Trade Centre, reinforce Dubai's premier global location for hosting international, face to face to meetings, and also contribute to the local economy. MBS Middle East Centre is the largest and fastest growing in the MBS international network of seven centres and the Dubai MBA workshops are the largest hosted by MBS anywhere in the world.

All the MBA workshop students are experienced working professionals in middle to senior management, including around 30% in c-level roles, working in leading organisations around the world. More than 200 of the MBA students chose Dubai for their workshops rather than their home centre - a choice offered by MBS to all MBA. Over 100 students from the MBS UK centre and more than 80 combined from MBS' China, Hong Kong and Singapore centres chose Dubai, reflecting the strong level of international interest in the emirate.

Randa Bessiso, Director - Middle East, Manchester Business School, commented:

"Our regular MBA workshops in Dubai are the highlight of the part-time programme providing intensive face to face contact with faculty and student peers, in a 'campus-style' learning atmosphere. The Dubai workshops give students a great international experience and exposure to the Dubai business environment, people, and hospitality and conference facilities, showcasing the city to this large group of influential business people. The workshops also make a contribution to the local economy through hundreds of hotel nights and the students' personal expenditure. The fact that so many of our students from other regions choose to come to the Dubai MBA workshops is testament to the level of international interest in Dubai amongst business people from around the world."

The MBS Middle East Centre in Dubai Knowledge Village is the largest and fastest growing of the school's network of seven centres, and supports more than 1,800 Global MBA students in the Middle East - representing more than 50% of MBS' part-time MBA students worldwide. The Middle East students represent more than 95 nationalities, are mature working professionals in middle to senior management positions, working with multinational, regional and local companies. MBS offers part-time Global MBA programmes for working professionals with a choice of four learning pathways - general Global MBA, Engineering, Projects, and Finance.
