Wednesday, 05 March 2008: JEDDAH - General Motors'  prestigious Chairman's Challenge Award for 2007, which recognizes outstanding performance in fields such as customer service and training, has been awarded to two GM dealers from Saudi Arabia - Abdullatif Alissa Automotive Company and Omar A. Balubaid Company. In the case of Abdullatif Alissa Automotive Company, the 2007 win is particularly special - it marks the fifth occasion that the dealer has picked up the award, which is open annually to GM dealers from around the Middle East.At the same time, Omar A. Balubaid Company also enjoyed an excellent 2007 -  the company saw its sales of Chevrolet and GMC vehicles increase by over 40 percent to 11,337 units compared to the previous year. Abdullatif Alissa Automotive Company and Omar A. Balubaid Company achieved their demanding Chairman's Challenge objectives by 120 percent and 137 percent respectively - these figures being indicative of the work that they put into improving the sales and service experience for customers over the year. They were also major contributors to overall GM sales of 79,168 units in Saudi Arabia in 2007.

Every year, the GM dealers from across the region, who represent the Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac, Hummer and Saab brands, are challenged to excel in a number of areas including meeting specified customer satisfaction, staff training and customer service retention standards, the timely submission of key reports and hitting sales targets.

The winners will be invited to receive their awards in late March in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where they will be hosted by senior company executives. In addition, to mark their five wins, representatives of Abdullatif Alissa Automotive Company will have the opportunity to meet with GM chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner in Paris, France, in early March.

The dealers from Saudi Arabia will join twelve other winners from Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Syria and the United Arab Emirates.
