Lulu boss Yusuff Ali tops
Dubai: Lulu Group boss Yusuff Ali MA has topped the inaugural Forbes "100 top Indian leaders in the United Arab Emirates". Forbes, world's top business and financial source unveiled the list at a function held at The Oberoi in Dubai. Landmark Group Chairman Micky Jagtiani came in the second position while Dr. BR Shetty of NMC group stood in the third position. The other prominent persons who appeared in the list are PNC Menon, Sunny Varkey, Dr.Azad Moopen, Joy Alukkas Syed Salahudding, Jacky Panjabi etc. Dr. Sashi Tharoor, Union minister for Human Resources presented the Forbes recognition to Yusuff Ali MA in the presence of MK Lokesh, Indian ambassador to the UAE, Dr. Nasser bin Aqeel Al Tayyar, Chairman of Forbes ME and other leaders of business community and people from different walks of life.
Yusuff Ali has also been featured in the latest Forbes Billionaires list with a net worth of $1.5 billion (INR 8,100 Crores). He heads Abu Dhabi headquartered Lulu Group, $ 4.25 billion in sales retailing powerhouse that runs 105 hypermarkets, supermarkets, department stores and shopping mall in the MENA region and India.
This latest ranking considers courageous individuals who founded their enterprises just as the UAE was finding its feet, influential business owners who are shaping and driving their companies success.
Ranking criteria for the top business leaders - History of the company and number of years in operation, International reach, Impact in terms of employment, Local and international presence, CSR initiatives and charity, International recognition and major accolades and media exposure.
