Roads and Transport Authority - Majdi Abu Zaid:

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced the launch of Phase III of the Smart Transformation of Vehicle Licensing Services as of this 20 November. The service relates to the processing of certificates pertinent to vehicles licensing via RTA’s website, call center, and self-service machines (kiosks), as well as ‘Drivers & Vehicles App.’ Phase 1 was launched in November 2015 for vehicles registration renewal (Companies), and Phase 2 was launched last August for renewal of vehicles exempted from the technical inspection. In phases 1 & 2, the number of transactions were (144,433).

“Phase III of Smart Transformation of Vehicle Licensing Services, which will be launched this November, covers vehicles owned by companies and individuals as well. Clients will be able to process the issuance of several certificates through a host of channels namely: RTA’s Portal, Drivers & Vehicles App, Call Center 8009090, and self-service kiosks deployed at customer service centers and the RTA’s Head Office,” according to Ahmed Hashem Bahrozyan, CEO of RTA’s Licensing Agency.

“The number of transactions in the two phases was (144,433) where (134,030) transactions were registered from November 2015 up to early August 2016, and (10,403) were registered from 15 August up to 13 October 2016.

“The concerned certificates cover: Clearance Certificate confirming no outstanding obligations or restrictions with RTA, and Ownership Duplicate Certificate in replacement of lost or damaged original one, but does not entitle the holder to drive the vehicle on road. There is also a Reinsurance Certificate that enables client to recover the premium in case a vehicle sustains an accident or is written-off. Finally, there is Vehicle(s) Ownership Certificate as a proof of vehicle ownership by the customer. RTA has provided a query system for validation and verification of such certificates through RTA’s website. Each certificate has a unique number to be entered into RTA’s website to verify its authenticity,” detailed Bahrozyan.

“The launch of Phase III of the Smart Transformation of Vehicle Licensing Services reflects RTA’s keenness to cut the number of visitors to customer service centers, and service providers. It also signals RTA’s continuous endeavours to realize its 3rd strategic goal of ‘People Happiness,’ and 1st strategic goal of ‘Smart Dubai,’ in line with directives of our government,” added the CEO of RTA Licensing Agency.
