Government real estate organisation launches second phase of inventiveness programme

Dubai - United Arab Emirates, 21 June 2015: Dubai Land Department (DLD) has announced the successful conclusion of the first phase of its Corporate Innovation and Creativity Diploma and the subsequent launch of its second phase. The Diploma, which was introduced in May 2015, is a product of DLD's Corporate Planning & Development Department, its Creativity & Innovation Department and Dubai Real Estate Institute, DLD's educational arm.

"The Corporate Innovation and Creativity Diploma complements the vision of the wise leadership of the UAE to encourage forward thinking and inventiveness in the workplace. It was launched in line with Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai's announcement that 2015 was to be the year of innovation in the country. The programme has been formulated to be compatible with DLD's strategy and goals, which involves the consolidation of a policy of excellence in our operations and in our services to customers," said HE Majida Ali Rashid, Assistant Director General of DLD.

DLD has made its Corporate Innovation and Creativity Diploma available to all its employees and has also opened it up for colleagues from other Dubai Government Departments. Its syllabus is based on training and rehabilitation to recognise the importance of creativity and innovation in the development of institutional work.

The first phase of the Diploma focused on highlighting the potential of the human mind and the individual and institutional factors that play a role in achieving creativity within an organisation. It included 36 hours of training on the tools and methods needed for creative thinking around six different themes; the brain in creative thinking, creative thinking, creativity and innovation in the public sector, the art of brainstorming, the art creative of leadership and positive energy.

The second phase of the Diploma takes the form of a 'Creative Laboratory,' which DLD says is intended to define the orientations of future government operations and highlight how associate government members can actively participate in the way forward. It aims to reveal practical applications by producing innovative ideas for the real estate environment.

"Creativity is the essential catalyst for growth and a necessary factor for success in any organisation. Our aim with this educational course is to generate creative ideas and turn them into new commercial products, services and practices that will be instrumental in DLD continuing to provide the very best service and to enhance its economic gains," added Ms. Rashid.
