[United Arab Emirates - Dubai - 12 April, 2015. Dubai Land Department (DLD) announce the its strategic partnership with the Australian Government represented by the Australian Trade Commission in Cooperation with the Australian Embassy in UAE, for its annual promotional campaign in the Middle East and North Africa;  Australia Unlimited MENA (AU MENA).

The main objective of this partnership is to raising the public awareness worldwide on the investment environment in Dubai, promoting Dubai in particular and the UAE in general, in terms of sustainability, growth, and economic diversity in the real estate market, enhancing DLD position at the national, local, and international levels, and promoting and fostering community interconnection spirit.

Australia Unlimited MENA will be taking place in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait from 12-19 April 2015, the campaign will be launched in Dubai with the attendance of HE Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, Director General of Dubai Land Department, while HE Majida Ali Rashid, Assistant Director General and Head of Investment Management and Promotion Center will be giving the seminar keynote address on Real Estate Sustainability. 

In its third edition, it aims to showcase Australian expertise and innovation and encourage increased trade, investment, and education collaboration with local stakeholders through targeted seminars, roundtables and networking events.

"We are pleased to be the strategic partners of this important event which will be held in Dubai, and hosted by both Riyadh and Kuwait, as the United Arab Emirates and Australia are linked by strong commercial ties. Such an event would help us to emphasize our mission on highlighting Dubai's position as one of the most attractive investment destinations in the world. This event has proven to be successful in the previous two sessions, and we expect that our interests intersect with the objectives in the various stations," said HE Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, Director General of Dubai Land Department.

In collaboration with the Dubai Land Department who are strategic partners of the Australia Unlimited MENA 2015 event, the Australian Trade Commission will be hosting the first UAE-Australia Strategic Dialogue on Sustainability Solutions for Smart Cities on 12 April 2015 at the Conrad Hotel, Dubai. This targeted event will bring together senior Government officials, and leaders from the industry and academia to discuss emerging priorities and solutions in creating sustainable urban environments.

Pablo Kang, Australian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, commented: "Australia Unlimited MENA is a great opportunity for us to raise Australia's profile and deepen relationships within the region's government and business community. This year, we want to position Australia as a nation of innovation, which is well placed to meet the region's future needs in the areas of sustainability, economic diversification, and human capital."

Gerard Seeber, Consul General and Senior Trade Commissioner, MENA explained: "Australia Unlimited MENA 2015 aligns perfectly with the UAE's Year of Innovation. In addition to the Australian businesses already established in the region, we will also be hosting a delegation of industry leaders in the field of Education and Sustainable Urban Development. The overall goal is to create a common understanding between the UAE and Australia of our respective visions, challenges and capabilities as well as establish future collaborative paths in the development of innovation-based economies. We will also be honoring local business and government officials who have been instrumental in strengthening the UAE-Australia bilateral relations."

HE Majida Ali Rashid, Assistant Director-General DLD emphasized on the importance of the strategic partnership due to many factors and common goals of mutual interest, and added: "DLD plays an important role in enhancing the sustainability criteria in the real estate sector; we can exchange experiences with prominent Australian institutions in this area."

Australia has enviable credentials as an 'innovation nation', with world-class scientific and academic institutions, high levels of investment in R&D and a history of achievements including high speed WiFi and the cervical cancer vaccine.  

The UAE and Australia share similar environment and climatic conditions. As both countries work towards developing smarter cities, there is an opportunity to share expertise and build partnerships in this field.
