DUBAI, 30th July, 2015 (WAM) -- Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) organised several activities within the framework of the 12th ?Fire Prevention Week? held at Jebel Ali power plant under the theme ?Fire Safety: Learn and Practice?.

The week-long activities, held in cooperation with all departments in Generation Division, included various programmes that aimed to promote awareness about personal safety in emergency situations. A number of prizes was also distributed to participants.

"In line with its vision to become a sustainable innovative world-class utility, and as part of its responsibility towards society and its leading role in supporting social development in Dubai, DEWA adopts the highest international standards of health and safety. We are keen to organise the Fire Prevention Week to raise awareness on the best practices for fire prevention. This will relatively contribute to boosting health and safety measures in society and achieving a sustainable future for generations to come," said Saeed Mohammad Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA.
