Abu Dhabi, UAE - Centro Capital Centre by Rotana, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC), Agthia Group and Abu Dhabi Refreshments Company (Pepsi) are celebrating the World Water Day 2015, by giving an awareness session about the water conservation, water & energy and sustainability. The event aimed to strengthen awareness on the need to rationalise the use of electricity and water, and to adopt eco-friendly and energy efficient technologies, which will enable us to further reinforce its committed efforts to conserve natural resources.

World Water Day is held annually on March as a means of focusing attention on the importance of freshwater and advocating for the sustainable management of freshwater resources. Each year, UN-Water chooses a different theme for World Water Day to highlight a specific aspect of freshwater.

'Water and Sustainable Development' was the focus theme of this year and the awareness session given versed on relevant topics and their relation to the subject. The main topics addressed were water conservation practices including tips for saving water along with water sustainability topics including updated fact & figures, energy and water use efficiency.

The awareness session was hosted by Centro Capital Centre, with an opening speech from the General Manager, Mr Ayman Ashor, followed by the input session from Mr. Abdulla AlBadi, Head of Water & Engineering Section at Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC), furthermore on Water & Energy by Miss Katerina Karpova, Environment, Health and Safety Officer at Centro Capital Centre.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ayman Ashor General Manager of Centro Capital Centre by Rotana said: "Understanding the importance of water and work towards preserving it is part of our main colleagues training at the hotel. Fresh water is a global challenge and such challenges could be tackled only if all stakeholders come together and supplement government efforts.
