Dubai Green Economy Partnership signs Strategic Partnership Agreement with the Municipality of Turin

Dubai, United Arab Emirates - The city of Turin (Italy) became a Strategic Partner of the Dubai Green Economy Partnership (Dubai GEP). The Secretary General of Dubai GEP, HE Fahad Al Gergawi and the Mayor of Turin, Mrs Chiara Appendino, met in Dubai FDI to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which supports both entities’ vision towards becoming global leaders in the realm of green economy. The MoU establishes a collaboration and will provide mutual support to both parties that will build a bridge between the two cities.

The agreement focuses on establishing strategic support between the two entities, with the aim of promoting trade and investment in green economy and sustainable products and services between Dubai and Turin.

‘’The strategic partnership with the city of Turin will increase the international visibility of Dubai GEP’s activities and its founding members. The collaboration will play an important part in bringing together the two cities to share best practices. We look forward to the partnership and the ability to facilitate sustainable economic growth for both cities at an international and regional level.’’- commented Mr Fahad Al Gergawi, Secretary General of Dubai GEP.

Chiara Appendino, Mayor of Turin, commented; ‘’This agreement is a step in the right direction for us. It will allow the city of Turin to increase the opportunities connected to green economy, given the UAE is, a key player in the global green economy context.’’

Both the Municipality of Turin and Dubai GEP are internationally engaged in promoting green economy and sustainable development, the agreement will enhance the mutual collaboration by the means of web and communication campaigns, press and international visibility.
