Airline's customers set to benefit from access to world-class Insurance

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 26 October 2008 - AIG UAE, an AIG company, this week launched a tie-up with Air Arabia to cover travel-related risks for the airline's passengers across all destinations.

The travel insurance solution, 'Travel Secure', will offer an array of insurance options for Air Arabia passengers for a maximum of 90 days after they book the ticket.

The insurance product covers situations including accidental death, emergency medical treatment, trip cancellation, baggage loss, flight delays and trip interruption, amongst others, for a premium as low as USD 5 for all tickets booked online.

"The response on the first day of launch was quite overwhelming - with over 1,000 policies sold in a matter of hours," says AIG Middle East Region Executive Vice President, Osama Abdeen.

"Travel insurance on flights is a successful auxiliary service across the globe. We see considerable potential for this product in the Middle East as flight schedules increase and consumers look for more convenient, cost-effective travel-insurance options," Mr. Abdeen added.

"The launch of our new travel insurance product has been possible due to host-to-host integration with the host system of Air Arabia, via state of Art XML Interface technologies provided by AIG," says AIG Regional Vice President, Suleyman Sagiroglu.

"Such integration has already assisted in AIG companies partnering with many airlines in other parts of the world," Mr. Sagiroglu added.

"Air Arabia is committed to providing a range of convenient services for all our customers," said AK Nizar, Head of Commercial Department - Air Arabia. "'Travel Secure' insurance provides passengers thorough coverage for unforeseen problems, with in any of the Air Arabia destinations"
